George takes fishing seriously and is very keen to see the already good standards of fisheries throughout Scotland raised even higher. To this end, he is currently Chairman of the Association of Scottish Stillwater Fisheries, a position that he has held for 7 years. The ASSF is  the professional body for stillwater fisheries in Scotland.

As a Council member of the Scottish Branch of the Institute of Fishery Management, George keeps up-to-date with all the current thinking behind running a professional trout fishery and this shows in the standards of facilities and the quality of rainbow trout.

George is also a co-opted member of the Council of the Salmon and Trout Association (Scotland).
